Appearance:
Tsurai stands 6'2" and weighs around 150 lbs. He has a light, natural tan as his skin tone. He is tall and slender lean with a slight muscular build. He has numerous cuts and scars covering him on his face and body. Of these scars none are as noticeable as the one leading from the bottom of his left eye down his cheek. He has a somewhat long and thin, clean shaven face, which has his dark, misty, gray eyes and shoulder length, dark black dreads that he most always has tied back into a ponytail.

He wears the tradtional Shinigami attire with the exception of the sleeves ripped off at the shoulders. Underneath this attire, he often wears a long, white muscle shirt. The shirt is so long that Tsurai must tuck the front part into his dark black, baggy sweat pants. He also keeps his pants legs rolled up slightly to reveal his black socks tucked into his pants while he wears a different pair of shoes ranging from boots to sandals. He wears a long, somewhat dull, silver chain that hangs from his neck down to his chest that has a teardrop hanging at the end. Also, when Tsurai plans on it, he will carry around his Zanpakutou on his waist where it's length will often scratch the ground below.

Personality:
Tsurai has changed his look on life many times throughout his life since his death as a human. When he had first arrived in Rukongai, he was afraid that he wouldn't live to see the day that followed. However once he met the elderly man that took him in and trained him, he had hope for the afterlife. When the elderly man died and he joined the Academy, he saw no hope and simply wanted to die. After he joined the 11th Division, he simply became a strong and fearless warrior that would show no emotion to anyone. It was during this time that he began to intimidate those that were weak and decided to become allies with only the stronger members of his Division.

When Tsurai isn't being the fighting and fearless warrior, he is often asleep, laying down in the shade, or avoiding to fight seeing that he is actually a lazy person. If he isn't doing those mentioned above then one could probably find him by himself at a lake, pond, ocean staring over the waters. He has always been fascinated by water and how it seems to make him even calmer. All in all, Tsurai is a really cool, laid back person that just wants to chill when he is around his friends.

Background/RP Sample

Background:
Tsurai's life as a human was a battle from the day he was born in the middle of a war on a military base. While his mother was giving birth to him, she died and left him in the care of his uncle since his father had abandoned her during his birth. Since Tsurai was left in care of his Uncle, who was a Military General, he was forced to begin training at a young age, 5 to be exact. He was put in the most challenging courses for both physical and mental training. At first it seemed as if Tsurai would be a promising soldier, but as the years progressed, Tsurai grew ill with a disease that was spreading through the base. Soon after being infected with the disease, Tsurai died at the age of 12.

In the afterlife, Tsurai had lost all but few of his memories as a human. He retained the memories of his coldest and hardest times and he strived for survival based off those memories. Not long after being a soul, Tsurai had his first encounter with a Hollow. Just wanting to survive, he ran. That was something he became quite good at for some time, running. He ran from Hollows, Shinigamis, and even other souls. It took a while, but before long, he was caught by a Hollow. When it seemed as if he were going to die again, a Shinigami came and killed the Hollow. The Shinigami after talking to Tsurai about what was going to happen to him purified his soul and sent him to Soul Society. It was there that Tsurai would begin to show the world that he was more than capable of being someone successful.

When he arrived in Soul Society, he arrived in a very bad part of Rukongai. The area was infested with many criminals and outlaws. Not even being there a day, Tsurai had to fight a group of criminals. Hurting most of them, some of them back away, but he was soon attacked again where he was left for dead. As nightfall came near, an elderly man helped him to his feet and took him home with him. When he awoke, he learned that the man was at one time a very respectable man, but now he simply does work as a blacksmith. He then told Tsurai that if he wanted to continue staying there with him, he would have to go to work, so the next day he went to work with the man. Some time went by before anything exciting happened to Tsurai again. He was beginning to age somewhat and looked as if he was 16 before he had got promoted at his job to make swords and other weapons for the Shinigamis. Tsurai was truly proud of him and decided that he and the elderly man should go and celebrate on his success. It was during this outing that would change Tsurai's life forever.

After leaving the bar and heading home, Tsurai and the man made their way home when next thing they knew was someone was standing in front of them. The figure then had more figures surround Tsurai and the man. At first Tsurai thought they just wanted their money, but it was soon clear that they wanted to fight. Within seconds, one figure swung their fist at him, but Tsurai was ready. Over the years of living with the man, Tsurai had managed to nearly perfect his fighting skills so he would no longer get beat up by these hoodlums. After Tsurai returned the punch to the figure and sent him flying backwards, the rest of the figures began to join in and fight. The fight last for about 10 minutes when a big *BANG* went off and they began to run away. Tsurai gave a huge smirk and then turned to see what happened to his friend. The elderly man lay on the ground, bleeding from his chest. Tsurai couldn't believe it, his friend and mentor was dying in his arms and he couldn't do anything. He yelled out for medics, but knew no one would come out to help him. As he held his mentor closer, his mentor wasted his last breath to tell Tsurai to join the Academy. Many tears rolled down Tsurai's face and nodded while holding his dear friend for the remainder of the night in the middle of the street.

For the next few weeks, Tsurai remained angry and sad over his friend's death. He didn't go to work and stayed home and trained his body to release his stress. He didn't leave his house for a few months and when he finally did, he decided to fulfill his promise to the man and began to head to Seiretei, where the Shinigami Academy was at. Upon reaching the Academy, he attempted to sign up and was accepted. It was then that Tsurai decided that becoming a Shinigami would make his life much more enjoyable. However, he was very wrong on that thought.

Some time passed and Tsurai was getting through on average scores in the Academy. He would leave his house early in the morning and wouldn't return until late at night, training at the Academy for exams. He did that on a regular basis, but one day he was confronted by a group of criminals. Without a warning, the group ran at Tsurai. Tsurai on the other hand wasn't going to let that happen though. As the first came within striking distance, Tsurai hit him in the chest and knocked him backwards. The others came at him, but they were going to get the worst of it. Tsurai picked up a steel bar with a jagged edge and began to wield it as his sword. He cut and sliced all his enemies with precision and accuracy unlike anyone had ever seen. As he believed the fighting was done, he began to walk off, but was soon stopped by a man wearing old, ragged robes and a sword at his side. The man told Tsurai to fight him. Tsurai said he had no reason, but before he could finish, the man swung a fist at him. Tsurai barely had enough time to dodge it and it was from the first punch, he knew he wasn't up against a normal criminal. A fight soon broke out and Tsurai landed a fair amount of punches and kicks in, but the man landed even more and left Tsurai badly injured. As it seemed it was the end for Tsurai, the man unsheathed his sword and pointed it at Tsurai's throat. He told Tsurai to beg for his life, but he refused. The man pressed the sword into his throat and continued to tell him to beg, but Tsurai continued to refuse. As Tsurai's throat began to bleed, the man sheathed his sword and told Tsurai to stand. Tsurai slowly stood and looked the man in the face, he looked so familiar. The man removed his hood and it was clear, he was the Caption of the 11th Division. Tsurai dropped to one knee and begged for forgiveness. The Captain laughed and told him to report to the 11th Division Quarters the next day. Tsurai tried to tell him he was still in the Academy, but the Captain had already walked off.

The next day, Tsurai reported to the 11th Division and it was better than what he imagined. There was constant training whether it be mental or physical. Tsurai made his way through the many Shinigamis that were worthy of being in the 11th Division until he reached the Captain's Office. When he opened the doors, he saw the Captain slicing through a wooden dummy with his Zanpakutou. Tsurai watched in awe until the Captain finally saw him. He turned to Tsurai and explained to him that he would finish out his Academy days as a member of the 11th Division and at the end of that time, take a spot as his Vice Captain. Tsurai was surprised at the offer he was given and he gladly accepted. It was that day that Tsurai began his journey as a Shinigami and a feared warrior as well. He now works in the 11th Division and does all he is supposed to hoping to one day achieve Vice Captain and even Captain if he is willing to stay with the program long enough.

RP Sample: (My sample for when I planned for him to be a Vizard)
Rain poured down over the town of Karakura, heavily pouring down on the buildings and people that were making an effort to get out of it. Out of these people running, one could see a tall, slender man walking with an umbrella over his head, hiding his face, and wearing an all black cloak that kept the rain from getting his clothes wet. The man walked at a somewhat slow, but steady pace through the nearly flooded streets of Karakura until he reached a tall abandoned building that overlooked all of karakura. The building was also rumored to have been haunted by ghosts for quite some time. The man didn't care about the rumors, but had come for his own reasons.

Walking through the double doors, the man stood in the lobby of the building. Looking around shortly, he then began to make his way through the deserted hallways and rooms. He ignored the smells emitting from the rooms that obviously hadn't been cleaned in years. He had made his way through the building until he found the stairs, which he began to climb. The man continued to climb until he reached the top floor which overlooked Karakura Town. The man made his way to the glass door leading to the balcony and looked out over the town when he heard a rustle behind him. He looked out the corner of his eye to see a dog that had been turned into a Hollow. The dog had the intention to attack the man, but the thought was cleared when the man released some of his own Hollow reiatsu. As he did this, he reached inside of his cloak and pulled out achunky part of a Hollow he had killed earlier that day;

"Here ya go... I don't need it"

The dog slowly made its way over to the man's hand and took the Hollow piece and began to eat. It was obvious to the man that the dog hadn't eaten in a while. The man opened up the glass door leading to the balcony and walked out, the dog following closely behind him. The man hopped over the rail and sat on it. He then looked over the town and began to speak aloud;

"Well ya know little man I was supposed to kill you, but I would rather watch the rain seeing that it calms me down."

The dog sat down on the balcony and wagged its tail as it listened. The man looked at the dog and then said;

"Oh my name's Tsurai Kansui by the way... forgot to say that when we first met. Sorry"

Tsurai then went quiet and began to stare at the town once more as that was something he loved to do now that he was a Vizard. He loved it when it rained here in the Real World, it was something he could watch all day. He then heard the dog whimper which brought him out his train of thought. He reached back into his jacket and removed a handfull of Hollow parts and threw them to the dog. The dog went back to eating and Tsurai continued to stare over the city for the time being... or until the Vizards needed him back at HQ.

Sealed Zanpakuto:
In its sealed state, Tenrai takes the form of a 8 ft long katana. The blade is completely black with the exception of the center which has a faint, white outline of a crescent moon. On the sides of the blade, markings resembling waves outline the moon and are etched along the sides of the blade down to the handguard. The handguard is dark blue and is hexogonal in shape. The hilt of the katana is 2 ft long (which includes the handguard which is 6 inches wide), dark blue, and is made of tear drop patterns.

Shikai:
In its released state, Tenrai takes the form of a kamayari, which is a spear with a sickle at the end. The spear side is 10 ft in length with three, 6 inch, pointed tips at the end. The tips of the spear are extremely sharp to the touch. Down the pole of the spear is a design of many black waves. At the opposite end of the spear, where the sickle is located, is a long chain (8 ft in length) that connects from the bottom of the spear to a sharp kama (sickle). The sickle can be thrown as a projectile and then reeled in to pull a target back to the user.

Shikai Ability:
Upon activating his Shikai, Tsurai is given the ability to manipulate water particles in the air within 5 meters of himself to give himself boosts of some sorts. The water can be manipulated to be a shield for defense or be encased around the weapon for an slight increase in damage done.

Bankai:
In activating its Bankai state, Tenrai begins to freeze up and shatter into a clouded mist. The mist is actually millions of extremely small, razor sharp, extremely cold, ice shards and they hover in the air around Tsurai. Besides the Zanpakutou taking on a drastic change in appearance, Tsurai takes on a slight change himself. His hair turns darker and grows down to his back. His eyes grow completely black as well. The clothes he wears mainly stay the same, but a black hooded coat with animal fur wraps around his body.

Bankai Ability:
Upon activating his Bankai, Tsurai's ability from Shikai is basically given a dramatic boost. He can control water in a 20 meter (65 ft), 360 degree, radial dome around himself as he is in the middle of it at all times. He can also decrease the water's temperature into ice and manipulate that as well.

Name: Heavy Rain
State: Both
Description: Tsurai says the name of the technique and the skies turn black. After 1 turn, it begins to rain lightly over the battlefield. At first there seems like no change, but in actuality, the opponents are having a decrease in speed, making it seem as if Tsurai is slowly getting faster. By the end of the technique, the enemy is nearly drained of all their speed and it seems as if Tsurai is teleporting around.

Name: Shark Wave

Description: Manipulating the water particles surrounding his weapon, Tsurai outlines the outline of his weapon. When he uses his weapon in a slashing motion, the water is released from the weapon and takes the form of a somewhat transparent crescent moon. The attack is filled with reiatsu and explodes on contact. This attack is equivalent to a Hollow's Bala in Shikai, but is equivalent to an Espada’s Bala in Bankai.

Name: Ice Prison Dome
State: Bankai
Description: This technique can serve many different purposes on the battlefield. In any way it is used, Tsurai would manipulate the water particles on the outermost edge of his 20 meter dome reach into ice. The ice perimeter would harden to the point it could take numerous hits from a Cero and then only be slightly scratched from the inside or the out. He could use this as a defense to shield himself, or he can trap an opponent inside the dome with him. Inside the dome, the temperatures start off at 0 degrees Celsius and steadily drops. The opponent will begin to suffer symptoms similar to frostbite, but Tsurai on the other hand would suffer them at a slower rate.

1 turn/post-Stage 1- The opponent suffers first degree frostbite causes skin to appear yellow or white. There may also be slight burning sensations. This stage of frostbite is relatively mild and can be reversed by the gradual warming of the affected area. Tsurai is affected in no way
2 turn/post-Stage 2- Second degree frostbite develops after continued exposure. This stage is characterized by the disappearance of pain and the reddening and swelling of the skin. Treatment in this stage may result in blisters and it may also peel the skin. Tsurai begins to feel Stage 1 effects.
3 turn/post-Stage 3- Third degree frostbite will result in waxy and hard skin. It is at this stage that the skin dies and edema may occur as a result of the lack of blood. Tsurai begins to feel Stage 2 effects.

Name: Demented Waters
State: Bankai
Description: This technique is rarely used by Tsurai, but it can be helpful at times. Tsurai would manipulate the outermost edges of his 20 meter dome until it begins to smoke and create a dense fog. The fog can be used as a means of escaping a tight situation, but that is not its true purpose. Tsurai will soon fade away into the smoke and get broken down into tiny water particles inside the dome. This will allow him a larger grasp on attacking his enemies as well as avoiding attacks. In this state, Tsurai can reappear within the mist anywhere and attack or just recreate one part of his body (a fist for example) and attack his enemy as so. In this state it may seem as if Tsurai has no weakness, but that is quite the opposite. In this state even though no physical based attacks could harm him, the slightest change in the static charge in the air would harm him drastically since he is entirely composed of water. This technique also requires lots of reiatsu, often leaving him drained afterwards.

All seems fine though I am a bit iffy about causing third degree frost bite, since your character feels similar effects I won't deny it right away.Wait for the Captain Commander to accept you as a Shinigami and I accept you as my VC.
